Last updated: 3 April 2026
For ICMPD, trust is the foundation of all relationships. We take the secure and careful handling of your data seriously. This statement summarises which personal data we process, for what purpose, what happens to your data, and the rights you have under data protection law. ICMPD operates a continuous data protection management system to plan, implement and monitor legal and operational requirements. Our aim is to safeguard the rights and freedoms of data subjects and to identify and manage risks related to processing.
In practice this means: personal data are processed fairly and transparently; they are kept accurate and corrected without undue delay; they are used only for stated purposes with appropriate legal basis; data no longer needed are deleted or restricted; access to sensitive data is limited to staff and partners who need it for their tasks; processors are bound by contract; we respect your information and other GDPR rights; technical and organisational security measures meet current standards; staff receive regular training on confidentiality and good practice.
Categories of data
Personal data means any information relating to an identifiable person. We process data in connection with our projects and services, including from public registers where lawful, and data you provide when using our website or contacting us (e.g. name, contact details, content of enquiries).
Purposes and legal bases
We process data to perform contracts, comply with legal obligations, and pursue legitimate interests (e.g. informing stakeholders about projects, secure IT operations). Where the original purpose no longer applies, we will only retain data with your consent or another valid exception. We do not use solely automated decision-making or profiling in a way that produces legal effects concerning you.
Processing is based on GDPR Article 6: consent where required; contract performance; legal obligation; legitimate interests, balanced against your rights.
Sharing and processors
We disclose data to third parties only where we have a legal basis—legal requirement, contract performance, or your consent. IT and other processors assist us under strict contractual confidentiality and purpose limitation.
Security
We apply access controls, policies and physical measures; security arrangements are reviewed with specialist support; our central IT provider supplies ISO 27001-aligned assurance.
Your rights
You may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability where applicable. We may ask you to verify your identity before responding. We will reply within one month (or inform you of any extension up to two further months).
